1999 All Ireland Hurling Final Cork v Kilkenny

The game’s big two haven’t contested a final in seven years. Under the management of playing legend Jimmy Barry-Murphy Cork have slowly rebuilt their fortunes. Kilkenny also have a former player in charge. In his first season Brian Cody has settled the team that reached the previous year’s final and they have looked formidable throughout the championship. Cork’s young side have put out holders Offaly but the consensus is that this will be a step too far. Cork 0-13 Kilkenny 0-12
