Kerry All-Ireland Senior Football Champions 1984
Kerry and Dublin met in the 1984 All Ireland Football Final in the centenary year of the founding of the GAA. Kerry were the better team and ran out winners scoring 0-14 to Dublin’s 1-06. This was a 28th All-Ireland title for Kerry and the Kingdom’s sixth win since 1975.
The following day both teams had lunch together before Kerry travelled home with the Sam Maguire cup. At Heuston Station the Kerry team and management are mobbed by supporters.
Kerry captain Ambrose O’Donovan speaks of his delight for both the younger and older members of the team and is looking forward to arriving in Tralee.
