John Fitzgerald Kennedy
Peter’s fabulous painting of President John F. Kennedy sitting in his rocking chair in the Oval Office of the White House in Washington.
JFK spent so much time in his Presidential rocking chair because of a bad back, injured initially playing football at Harvard, and then re-injured during World War II, when Kennedy’s boat, the PT-109, was rammed by a Japanese destroyer, and despite the pain, he swam 3 miles carrying a badly burned crewman to the nearest island. JFK’s famous rocker was a prominent part of the Oval Office while he was President, and many of his most important meetings with world leaders and other famous people took place with him in his rocking chair. Each print is individually numbered and signed by Peter Deighan, and is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity which is also signed by the artist.
