1966 All-Ireland Hurling Final: Cork v Kilkenny

A famous final between the old rivals. It’s all of a decade since Cork last reached the All-Ireland and 12 years since the Liam MacCarthy went back to Leeside. The under-21 centrefield of Gerald and Justin McCarthy drives a young team that has picked up experience in a tough Munster campaign. Kilkenny have half the team that won the All-Ireland three years ago. On the way to this year’s League title they handed Cork a thrashing in the semi-finals. It looks clear cut.
Cork (3-09) Kilkenny (1-10)
