Laois were the All-Ireland hurling champions of 1915, when they beat Cork 6-2 to 4-1 on a wet day in October in the final.
The senior hurlers of the O’Moore County have won only one title since – the Delaney Cup in 1949, when they squeaked past Kilkenny in the Leinster Final, 3-8 to 3-6. Laois went on to beat Galway to return to the All-Ireland Final, where they beaten by Tipperary.
