The Kings of Hurling is a tribute to Kilkenny hurling in 2008. As well as being packed with brilliant match action, the DVD has exclusive contributions from manager Brian Cody, who has moulded individual talent into an exceptional team: Henry Shefflin, the greatest hurler in the modern game: sharpshooter Eddie Brennan and inspirational captain James ‘Cha’ Fitzpatrick.
The Kings of Hurling has highlights of the 2006 and 2007 final successes against Cork and Limerick and full coverage of the 2008 final against Waterford, already being hailed as the most complete performance by a team in the history of All-Ireland finals. The DVD also includes action from the title winning Minors, Under 21’s who along with taking the All Ireland Intermediate title made it a Kilkenny ‘grand slam’ in 2008.
In an era when the championship format has made it harder than ever to win successive All-Irelands Kilkenny have laid claim to being one of the most formidable teams in hurling history. Winning back to back titles is said to be proof of greatness but only once in a generation do teams achieve the historic distinction of three-in-a-row.
It’s nearly 100 years since Kilkenny accomplished the feat. With that incentive and the added motivation of overtaking Cork for top spot in the leader board of most All Ireland titles, 2008 always had the potential to be an historic one.
The achievements of this Kilkenny team may not yet be complete but The Kings of Hurling tells the story so far and is a tribute to the current hurling stars of a county with a unique hurling tradition.

· A DVD for all hurling fans to enjoy !
