That 1937 final was the first All-Ireland to be played outside of Croke Park. Only one year after it opened, Killarney’s Fitzgerald Stadium hosted the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final between Tipperary and Kilkenny, after a builder’s strike delayed the construction of the Cusack Stand in Croke Park.
